Job Objective:
Perform a variety of skilled work to include troubleshooting and repair of various types of equipment and electrical systems: motors, lighting, generators, PLC's, HVAC, engines, control and safety systems, communications equipment, and production machinery. Essential Job Responsibilities: * Performs skilled work installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems/equipment: Engines, motors, lighting, generators, control and safety systems, communication equipment, HVAC, PLC's, and production equipment. * Estimates cost, time, and materials for electrical projects. * Performs skilled work in placing and removing electrical components as well as repairing wires, cable conduit, and various electrical components. * Inspects, tests, calibrates, and adjusts various controls or meters used in the electrical system. * Install electrical wiring systems, as required per NEC. * Maintains safety practices and procedures. * Motor Control and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) * Backup Power Generation Systems * Building Automation Systems * Troubleshoots electrical devices in operation and makes necessary repairs/modifications. * Knowledge of lock-out tag-out practices * Performs electrical, instrument, analyzer, air conditioning, and heating repairs. * Reads and understands electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications. * Oversees and coordinates electrical projects. * Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation. * Supports company vision and mission. * Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings. Other Job Responsibilities: * Assists operations and other maintenance crafts as needed. * Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: * Three (3) years minimum experience required in electrical maintenance. Oil and gas field experience preferred. * Working knowledge of high voltage electricity, generator systems, switch gear, and safety training. * Working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in electrical repair and maintenance work. * Working knowledge of the occupational hazards, process safety, and safety precautions of the trade. * Considerable knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations. * Ability to follow proper methods, procedures, and safety precautions of line work. * Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time. * Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. * Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. * Ability to accurately solve problems. * Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and redline drawings. * Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.). * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public. * Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities. * Ability to work in Arctic conditions. * Ability to work a 14/14 (14 days on hitch/ 14 days off hitch) 12hr work schedule. Education Requirements: * High School Diploma. * Completed an approved apprentice program Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: * Required: Current Alaska Certificate of Fitness Journeyman Electrician |
