Sr. Team Leader, Purchasing

Kamatics, a division of Kaman, is searching for a Sr. Team Leader in our purchasing area to supervise raw material, outside process and offload purchasing activities to meet company objectives, policies, and requirements. Ensure that quality, quantity, and timelines are met.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the raw material and value stream purchasing teams to ensure high level of productivity and quality. Ensure that staff work together as a team. Lead by example, communicate information and provide training on new procedures. Determine performance expectations, evaluate performance, and provide coaching and training opportunities. Handle employee issues effectively and timely.
• Lead material and outsourcing procurement activities to ensure lowest total cost and on-time delivery to support production of customer deliveries.
• Maintain workflow and balance, track and monitor work. Ensure that productivity and quality standards and measures are met. Communicate information to appropriate department, leaders, and stakeholders.
• Manage data and provide key reports to applicable stakeholder and manage expenses.
• Utilize continuous improvement principles to achieve company goals in cost, throughput, productivity, quality and delivery. Responsible for performance, measurements, capacity planning and performance matrices.

• Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follows safety, health and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
• Make recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures.
• Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers and contribute to positive teamwork environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Accomplishes related results as needed.

Education:

• BS degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or related technical field

Experience/ Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years in Manufacturing / Purchasing environment. Aerospace industry environment experience is preferred.
• Prior leadership experience is highly desired.
• Strong attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical thinking is a must.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and develop or maintain professional relationships at all levels.
