The Digital Designer will be responsible for leading and defining the creative direction across our digital properties. Working with internal and external team members that own and support digital products, mobile apps, Sherwin-Williams.com, content, and merchandising initiatives.

This person will support the Manager of Creative and work with business leads, marketing, product management, agency partners, and developers to create innovative, industry leading design experiences across our channels. The Digital will be help in leading and managing the Design System that will support Sherwin-Williams.com and mobile apps.

The successful candidate for this role will be a passionate designer with a proven track record of delivering
best-in-class designs solutions within an omni-channel environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities



  • Lead and drive the creative direction across visual design, UX, strategy, interaction design, user research/assessment, prototypes, and delivery to ensure alignment and understanding.
  • Push, evolve, and consistently innovate design approaches, templates, and content for all digital
    supported properties.
  • Extend brand and visual continuity in design and messaging across all channels.
  • Ensure the highest quality deliverables that enhance the overall experience for the customer.
  • Design intuitive and elegant, best-in-class experiences based on design and usability principles across digital properties and touchpoints.
  • Provide creative governance across all visual design executions, and delivery to ensure alignment.
  • Support strategies to drive site performance and KPI results through creative solutioning.
  • Aid in the vision and execution needed to transform the visual customer experience via digital across products and properties.
  • Collaborate with the content, merchandising and marketing teams to solution and design a wide variety of marketing support and sales assets (landing pages, campaigns, digital imagery, banners, coupons, and other marketing requests that align with Sherwin-Williams brand guidelines, campaigns, or existing templates.
  • Work with business leads, product owners, delivery teams to understand perspectives to design and deliver experiences that contribute to business goals, success, and position Sherwin-Williams as an industry leader.
  • Partner with the UX team to shape design decisions and measure the effectiveness of those design solutions to ensure delivery of a best-in-class experience.
  • Contribute to the design processes that support the design and development lifecycle that integrates with our delivery model.
  • Work with external agency and internal partners to ensure brand consistency and best-in-class design executions.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Design Systems.
  • Create documentation to evangelize consistent usage of the design system that include best practices for how and why patterns, components and styles are applied
  • Push, evolve, and consistently innovate design approaches, templates, and content for all digital supported properties.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of design systems.
  • Contribute to documentation of the design system that includes best practices for how and why patterns, components and styles are applied.
  • Support our current design system from implementing foundational principles such as the grid, breakpoints, color, and type to a feature-complete set of core components for DIY and PRO customer.


FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Visual Communication Design or related field or equivalent experience. Candidate must have three years of work experience for every one year of college education required.



KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:



  • 6+ years of experience as a design professional
  • Proven success in delivering designs that support and enhance the overall experience.
  • Passion for design, stays current design trends and implementations.
  • Understanding of user-centered design fundamentals, design principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of design principles.
  • Experience creating solutions through user flows, storyboards, wireframes, personas and prototypes.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders and can articulate their design thinking and solutioning that supports the needs of the ask.
  • Proficient in industry tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Invision or Sketch.
  • Time management skills with a track record of accomplishing goals on time and of the highest quality.
