R&D Sr. Color Data Specialist - GSC

Color Data Management & Delivery



  • Performs high skill level departmental tasks related to delivery of color software support for our Consumer Brands Division. This may include data entry, data modifications, update build, and update testing. Leads color delivery projects using departmental tools and processes. Robust capability in managing all aspects of color delivery for functional area.
  • Able to identify issues, trouble-shoot and independently recommend and implement solutions to deliver color accuracy to our customers.
  • Generates moderately complex data output, conducts analysis, and provides reports to management and partners.
  • Utilizes robust knowledge of software systems, internal tools, analysis tools, color alignment and lab practices and can apply knowledge to daily work.
  • Works autonomously. Plans, schedules, executes work, analyzes results, and makes recommendations based on those results.
  • Identifies, addresses, and resolves issues in partnership with team.
  • Independently initiates and leads interactions with Marketing, Sales, vendors, field reps, and/or end users without supervisory support.
  • Identifies potential Continuous Improvement opportunities and drives necessary actions for implementation. May lead CI projects of moderate impact or moderate team involvement.
  • Seeks ways to improve systems, tools and processes used in the storage, maintenance and delivery of color formulas and point-of-sale matching.
  • May mentor others and will provide training and oversight for junior specialists.
  • Prepares detailed written documentation and summaries with technical/business information within and outside department and outside division.
  • Independently initiates and leads interactions with customers, vendors, field reps, & external partners to drive project delivery.
  • Follows Safety, Housekeeping, and ISO established practices.


BASIC QUALIFICATION:
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
* High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:
* Associates Degree

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
* 7 years of IT or Data Management experience
* Computer/Software proficiency (Microsoft as well as internal systems to be used as part of role)
* Ability to learn quickly and apply learnings to job function
* Clear communication (written and verbal)
* Adaptability and Multi-Tasking
* Attention to detail

Preferred:
* Previous color or coatings experience
* Experience leading projects

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
* Demonstration of strong computer skills
* Detailed communication both written and verbal
* Ability to multi-task and deal with shifting timelines
* Ability to self-manage tasks and timelines
* Problem solving skills
* Ability to conduct analysis and report findings

Preferred:
* Prior color experience with understanding of point-of-sale color support
* Experience with Sherwin-Williams specific color software and support tools
* Experience with database applications and data migration
* Project management experience

Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Breen Technology Center, located at 601 Canal Road, Cleveland, OH 44113.
