Our team has a coordinated approach to maximize independence, reintegrate into the community and increase the overall sense of well-being in collaboration with patients and their families. The Rehabilitation Hospital takes into account all of the physical and cognitive changes to create an individualized program that optimizes patient recovery and caregiver training from neurological and orthopedic injuries. Conveniently located inside Lee Memorial Hospital, The Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to rebuilding lives and renewing hope. The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist (PT). PTAs implement selected components of patient/client interventions and obtain data related to that intervention; make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the Physical Therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort; educate and interact with Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant students, technicians, volunteers, patients/clients families, caregivers; and respond to patient/client and environmental emergency situations. The PTA is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner.
