Columbia MD Pay From: $92 per hour MUST: Experienced System Administrator - Red Hat Enterprise Linux Active TS/SCI Poly Required An active Tier II certification related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration, such as the Red Hat Certified System Administrator HS or GED required 9 years IT experience in field years of red hat enterprise Linux system and admin experience within the last 8 years The Level 4 System Administrator (SAL) shall demonstrate all lower-level skills plus the following skills: Configure Linux-based operating systems and their services in order to maximize system performance and reliability. The Level 3 System Administrator (SAL) shall demonstrate all lower-level skills plus the following skills: Configure Linux-based operating systems and their services according to system requirements. Identify and correct most deficiencies and errors related to capacity, performance, and reliability. Identify patches and configuration changes according to system requirements. Manage the system as part of an integrated solution, assisting related administrators in troubleshooting and correcting network and storage subsystem issues. The Level 2 System Administrator (SAL) shall demonstrate all lower-level skills plus the following skills: Provide support for the implementation and operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based Information Technology (IT) systems. Install and configure Linux-based operating systems and their services according to provided specifications. Conduct day-to-day operations, such as account management, system health and status checks, and internal technical and security log review. Identify and correct common deficiencies and errors. Identify capacity, performance, and reliability issues and escalate them for resolution. Apply patches and configuration changes according to provided direction. Support the dispatching of hardware technicians and perform hardware maintenance. Automate basic tasks and use tools in order to provide concurrent management of multiple systems. Communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
