Job Overview:

Associate Senior for Central Sterile Processing.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CRCST- Certified Registered Central Service Technician thru IAHCSMM or CSPDT required
  • CIS- Certified Instrument Specialist thru IAHCSMM or CSPDT required

Preferred:

  • Surgical Technologist preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Leads and guides sterile processing staff in the reprocessing of reusable instrumentation and equipment.
  • Addresses and facilitates the reprocessing of more complex, specialty instruments and equipment.
  • Reviews OR schedule with OR Manager to determine loaner/vendor instrumentation needs and availability.
  • Serves as point person with the OR personnel to resolve instruments issues that may occur before, during and after a procedure.
  • Communicates with CSP staff prior to any/all surgical cases to be performed in a day to ascertain specific instrument needs are available.
  • Monitors Priority List to ensure instrumentation is ready and available for all scheduled procedures.
  • Communicates with the OR and CSP staff on instrument turnovers and availability.
  • Performs functions of a Central Sterile Processing technician.
  • Adheres to AORN, AAMI and Joint Commission standards (e.g. biological, chemical and mechanical monitoring) in the performance of duties.
