Fiscal Administration Trainee The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a Fiscal Administration Trainee to receive on the job training for our Accounts Payable Unit to perform the following job functions: auditing claims for payment from attorneys, arbitrators, attorney trial referees, fact-finders, lessors, magistrates, medical providers, postal services, state marshals, utilities, victim claimants, volunteers and contracted services/commodities; reviews requests for reimbursements from Judges and employees; verifies invoice amounts to established fee schedules, statutory rates, court-ordered documentation, Office of the State Comptroller's regulations and contracted rates; checks quantities, unit prices and terms of contracts; assists in resolving invoice discrepancies with vendors and corrects documents; ensures that proper funds are available before an invoice is processed; creates all vouchers in the State’s system; reviews and maintains the Comptroller's vendor file including any additions and/or modifications; utilizes activated speed charts in the State’s accounts payable module. This position may qualify for hybrid remote work at the conclusion of the two-year training period. Salary Range: $54,911 - $71,914/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING General Experience: Two years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, banking, or financial record keeping. An incumbent who is classified as a Fiscal Administration Trainee will be advanced to Fiscal Administration Assistant I after successful completion of two years of experience. Substitutions Allowed: College training in accounting or a closely related field may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours equaling one-half year of experience to a maximum of two years for an Associate’s degree.
