Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the proper handling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilization and assembly of instrumentation and patient-related equipment to render them safe for handling and use; monitor, order and stock supplies for the department; complete regular cleaning of the sterile processing and supply areas; and to perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Sterilization Tech program.
• Must have one of the following:
  
  
  
  • Current CSPDT from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or obtained within one year from hire date
  • Current CRCST from the International Association of Healthcare Service Material Management or obtained within one year from hire date.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework in Sterile Processing or equivalent Sterile Processing Technician experience
• Certification in sterilization
