Lab Assistant/Medical Laboratory Technician

Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology. Perform phlebotomy. Position does require occasional early evenings and weekends.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma in Lab Assisting, Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field, and (1) year of clinical laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• -or- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and graduate from an HHS-approved laboratory training program.
• Attention to detail with high level of accuracy.

Job Specifications:

• Perform simple to complex laboratory tests.
• Provide specialized testing in microbiology, urinalysis, serology, hematology, hemostasis, immunohematology, and chemistry.
• Collect, prepare, and store specimens following proper protocols.
• Maintain and ensure quality control and functionality of laboratory equipment and instruments with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Provide customer service and professional interaction with patients and healthcare professionals regarding test procedures.
• Accurately record and forward test results to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Participate in continuing education programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
