Assistant or Associate Professor in Engineering Management Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering & Engineering Management Western Michigan University The Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering & Engineering Management Department (IEE&EM) at Western Michigan University (WMU) is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Engineering Management. Candidates must haveearned a Ph.D. in Engineering Management (EM) or Industrial Engineering (IE) or a related field or will have completed all therequirements for the Ph.D. in EM or IE or a related field by August15, 2025, from an ABET-accredited department in a college ofengineering. Candidates must show clear potential for effectivein-person teaching in engineering or engineering technology at theundergraduate or graduate levels; published independent research in Industrial Engineering and/or Engineering Management fields throughauthorship or co-authorship of peer reviewed conference proceedingsand/or journals. Relevant industrial experience, full-time teachingexperience at a college, a track record of successful grantwriting, and online teaching experience are desired. Applicants must be able to provide instruction in traditionalareas of Engineering Management. Expertise in the areas ofleadership, organizational behavior, applied data analytics(including AI), project management, supply chain, decisionanalysis, and risk analysis are desired. Additionally, it isanticipated that this individual will develop new coursework intheir field of expertise. WMUs IEE&EM Department is an integral player in research inthe College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS). Desirablecandidates are expected to work closely with the CEAS faculty andto obtain external funding from regional and national providers,research foundations, and federal funding agencies. In addition,candidates research areas are expected to complement thedepartments expertise in data analytics, Industry 4.0, healthcare,and advanced engineering management practices. The IEE&EM Department offers an ABET-accreditedundergraduate engineering degree in Industrial &Entrepreneurial Engineering, an ABET-accredited undergraduatedegree in Engineering Management Technology, an MSE in Industrial Engineering, an MS in Engineering Management, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. Currently, the department has 13 tenuredand tenure-track faculty, 100 undergraduate and 80 graduatestudents. Additional information can be found on our web site athttp://www.wmich.edu/ieeem. The CEAS has seven academic departments, with programs inengineering, engineering technology, and applied sciences, and islocated on a 270-acre engineering campus. This site includes astate-of-the-art engineering complex and a Business Technology& Research Park. Western Michigan University, located in Southwest Michigan, is avibrant, nationally recognized student-centered researchinstitution with an enrollment over 17,000, approximately 20% ofwhom are at the graduate level. WMU delivers high-qualityundergraduate instruction, has a strong graduate division, andfosters significant research activities.
