DESCRIPTION The Security Officer ensures the safety of the campus community, the security of the facilities, and compliance with Moberly Area Community College regulations regarding traffic and parking, conduct and use of facilities. This is a uniformed, unarmed position responsible for all daytime security issues at the Mexico campus, including monitoring both people and property for safety concerns, locking/unlocking facilities, arming/disarming alarms, and making ID cards. This is a full-time, 12-month, FLSA non-exempt position with employee health and basic life insurance paid by the college. QUALIFICATIONS Experience is preferred. A high school diploma is required, associate’s degree preferred; must be able to pass a background check and be willing to take first-aid, CPR/AED, baton, self-defense and pepper spray training on an annual basis. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to walk throughout the campus buildings and grounds in all types of weather. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Security Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
