Non-Tenure Line Teaching Professor in Security Studies and Technology Location: Washington, DC Description The candidate would teach four courses a year, some required by theprogram and others reflecting the candidate's specialization. Thecourses would be chosen by the SSP director and associate directorin consultation with the candidate. The successful candidate would work with SSP faculty and staff tomanage part of the SSP technology curriculum depending on theirarea of expertise. In addition, they would mentor students,identify, manage, and mentor adjunct professors, and otherwiseassist SSP leadership with the running of the program. Thesuccessful candidate would also have the opportunity to collaboratewith the Center for Security and Emerging Technology at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service. They would report to the SSP director and associate director. A Ph.D. with a specialization in a security-related area ispreferred, but candidates with significant professional experiencein a security- or technology-related field are also welcome toapply. The ideal candidate would also have a passion for educatingfuture professionals; interdisciplinary research on importantsecurity and technology issues in a comparative or global context;significant experience teaching in a practical, student-centeredprogram; and connections to colleagues in the Washington area tobring their expertise to Georgetown. Faculty rank will bedetermined by qualifications. The start date for this three-year position is August 1, 2025,though flexibility on start date is possible. This position isrenewable depending on performance and need. The projected salary range for this position is Assistant Teaching Professor: $95,000- $110,000; Associate Teaching Professor: $110,00-135,000.
