The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Civil & Environmental Engineering Practice at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. Part-time Adjuncts will also be considered.
This position is intended for professionals with diverse industry experience and technical expertise who can bring real-world insights to CEE's online certificate programs, including our "Certificate in AI Engineering - Digital Twins & Analytics." The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting academia with industry, helping students prepare for successful careers in CEE within today's interdisciplinary landscape.
Qualifications Candidates should hold an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate the potential to integrate their professional practice with the CEE's educational, research, and outreach programs. The ideal candidate will have experience leading industry projects that involve the implementation of sensing technologies, data analytics, computing systems, and/or AI. Additionally, they should have experience developing strategies and visions as an industry leader. The successful candidate must reside and work from one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, MD, MA, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA, or DC.
