Job Description:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitor all construction activities at NY CREATES.
- Act as NY CREATES representative in the field to all construction management firms and their subcontractors.
- Interface with NY CREATES management and engineering staff as needed to provide direction to construction management superintendents on issues that arise in the field.
- Review new construction drawings and tool hookup P&IDs to insure an understanding of the scope of work.
- Participate in consultant design reviews and comment on constructability of designs and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Understand schedule requirements and monitor construction efforts to ensure design documents are followed and projects are progressing per schedule.
- Prepare work permits or assist construction manager in permit preparation.
- Determine if proposed work has shutdowns, oversee work in field to ensure contractors are aware of all potential dangers that would have potential impact to tenants and /or tooling.
- Investigate any impacts for root cause and implement action to correct.
- Ensure that all contractors follow the NY CREATES Site Health and Safety procedures including but not limited to, wearing appropriate approved PPE, using required tie-offs and following LOTO procedures. Investigate any contractor injuries and determine root cause and subsequent action plan to prevent reoccurrence.
- Assist NY CREATES management and Facilities staff in evaluating AE/CM performance on projects.
- Review completed efforts of contractors for compliance with designs and specifications as well as functionality, fit and finish.
- Prepare punch list of completed work and drive construction management firm to correct.
- Assist Facility Operations Group (FOG) with field coordination to implementation, specification review all capital projects.
- Assist management as required with NY CREATES programs as required.
- Work with FOG to ensure all site required Capital projects and completed on schedule and within budget.
- Develop understanding of all Facilities site and building systems including HVAC, exhaust, abatement systems, chillers, boilers, waste treatment, process gases, chemical distribution, compressed air, process cooling water, and Ultra-Pure Water (UPW).
- Maintain working relationship with construction management field personnel to facilitate cooperative efforts in accomplishing NY CREATES project objectives.
- Foster strong communication within NY CREATES FOG personnel, actively involve these personnel during construction, commissioning, and startup phases of projects.
- Understanding of all aspects of constructions safety, communicating clear expectations to construction management, subcontractors and close integration with NY CREATES EH&S department.
- Assist NY CREATES construction / engineering staff to understand "Best of Breed" methods and standards within the semiconductor industry through benchmarking activities or knowledge of the industry, then presenting those findings to team.
- Assist to develop and implement adequate documentation and tracking methodologies form projects at NY CREATES.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for Field Construction Technician
- Associate degree in construction management or related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the facilities organization of a major semiconductor manufacturer or technical construction company with demonstrated project experience on large construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and read contract documents, drawings, and specifications on construction projects.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the facilities organization of a major semiconductor manufacturer or technical construction company with demonstrated project experience on large construction projects.

Salary Range:
1-5 years- $31.25- $36.05
5-10 years- $36.05 - $40.86
10+ years- $40.86-$48.07
