The University of Washington, Department of Surgery is recruiting a full-time academic trauma, burn and critical care surgeon to join the UW Regional Burn Center at Harborview Medical Center as part of the Division of Trauma, Burn and Critical Care Surgery. The UW Medicine Regional Burn Center and Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center provide multidisciplinary care for approximately 8 million people in the states of Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho, and are verified by the American Burn Association/American College of Surgeons and the State of Washington. The full time appointment is at the level of an Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure by reason of funding), Associate Professor WOT or Professor WOT. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The title, salary and rank is commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Summer/Fall of 2025. Clinical activities will primarily focus on burns and surgical intensive care management. The successful candidate may also participate in trauma care, general surgery and other clinical activities within the division, commensurate with their qualifications and interests. The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Therefore, this position will be expected to engage in academic and scholarly activities. This position will be expected to participate in the education of trainees (students, residents and fellows). The candidate will be expected to contribute to burn center research endeavors, academic projects and quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be given adequate protected time to develop academic endeavors. Excellent clinical and basic science research resources are available. At the rank of Assistant Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be: $29, 167 - $33,334 per month ($350,004 - $400,008 annually). At the rank of Associate Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be: $35,834 - $38,750 per month ($430,008 - $465,000 annually). At the rank of Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be $40,000 - $41,667 per month ($480,000 - $500,000 annually). Base salary will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through UWP. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
